Gastric Bypass Laproscopic Surgery

Gastric bypass is a procedure where the upper portion of the stomach is formed into a pouch that is bypassed to the intestine. Following the surgery, there will be a lengthly recovery period. You can expect to stay in the hospital for five days following the procedure, and be placed on a special diet for two months afterwards. The first phase of this diet consists of clear liquids only. Eventually, you will be allowed to eat from every food group in small portions spaced throughout the day.

Another option that involves a laproscope but is even less invasive and offers shorter recovery is the mini gastric bypass. This procedure can be done on an outpatient basis and completed in under an hour.
